Strong Start to Spring at NBS
"Be alert, stand firm in faith, be courageous, be strong." 1 Cor. 16:13
It has been a busy start to spring at NBS. The students have been involved in both academic and sports competitions. They have had field trips and in-school projects for spiritual growth, academics, and just for fun. As you can imagine, everyone is looking forward to a little break for Spring in April before returning to school ready for exams and, finally, graduation for the 71st class of NBS in June.
Although times are stressful, Friends of Nazareth is so thankful to God for giving the staff and students the courage to stand strong.
In the photo above, high school students attached messages of encouragement and goals for their lives underneath each umbrella. The umbrellas were hung across the school yard as a daily reminder to have faith and to be strong and courageous as they become all that God wants them to be.
Students worked with a local artist to paint a mural on one of the school walls. The students designed the painting and, with the help of the artist, did the work themselves to complete a beautiful finished project. Pray for peace in the Holy Land.
In order to offer a break from the daily schedule, different grades participated in a variety of field trips and in-school fun activities. These activites provided students a time to build relationships with their peers and with their teachers. It was an amazing stress reliever. The SMILES tell it all!
NBS held a Masquerade Day on which the students dressed up in costumes and participated in activities during the day, such as food tastings, sports activities, special Chapel time, and games. Sometimes it is just fun to be someone different for a day and make crazy faces! May God help each student at NBS find their identity in Him.

God has been doing a lot in my life to get me to where I am today and I am so thankful. I’m grateful for my family, friends, and all the leaders and teachers at the Nazareth Baptist School. I’m also so thankful for the Friends Of Nazareth (FON) for connecting me to the University of North Alabama. Today I am pursuing my degree in finance, plugged into a local church, involved in a discipleship group, and growing in my faith, God is good! Thank you, NBS, Friends Of Nazareth and thank you, Lord.

As the Mission Pastor at Highland Baptist Church, I have the privilege of pursuing partnerships with multiple mission organizations and missionaries. For me and for Highland, our support and partnership with Friends Of Nazareth and the Nazareth Baptist School is a no-brainer. We get to support the only K-12 evangelical school in the Middle East and even send teams to do missions and ministry work in the very hometown of Jesus- Amazing!
I also serve as the College Minister and have recently met Sami, a graduate of Nazareth Baptist School. Sami is a regular in our services, small groups, and discipleship. I recently heard his Faith testimony and how NBS and the Friends Of Nazareth have had a massive impact on him and his story. We are convinced that there are many more ’Sami’s‘ out there. So friends, keep praying, giving, and going to and for Nazareth. I praise God for all He is doing at NBS and through the Friends Of Nazareth.
